Help with winter heating bills

Once again residents of Windlesham, Bagshot and Lightwater are invited to apply for grants towards the cost of their winter heating bills from the Poors Allotments charity. The grants are usually made around Christmas time and only people who have lived in the three villages for two years or more are eligible to apply.

Application forms are available in the Post Offices in Bagshot and Lightwater, and from the chemist’s in Windlesham, or from the clerk to the trustees, Mrs Carol Robson, 4 James Butler Almshouses, Swift Lane, Bagshot, GU19 5NH.  The closing date for applications is November 15 2018.

Heathland Conservation Trust – come and help!!

work+area_mapThe Heathland Conservation season has restarted and the first session is this Saturday and every Wednesday. I am trying to get a cohort of retired individuals to get enthused and increase our work force. Could you send out a note saying:-
Would you be free Wednesday mornings over the winter period?
Would you like regular exercise in congenial company?
Would you like to do your bit to preserve our local environment?
If so do join us at the Heathland Conservation Society between 10 am and lunchtime on Wednesdays between October and March. We work on the heathland adjoining the communication tower. This is part of the Bagshot and Windlesham Poors allotment and managed by Surrey WildLife Trust
If interested please contact David Norminton on davidrhn@gmail.com or text or phone on 07966 287113.
