On Friday 16th (7.30pm) – Saturday 17th (10pm), there will be a small art exhibition in the dining room at The Cedar Tree.  This is being run jointly by The Cedar Tree and  Bagshot Events to raise funds for The Lisa May Foundation (also based in Bagshot). (Times to be confirmed). We would like to hear from any local artists/photographers, who would like to exhibit and sell their work on this occasion. A percentage from any sales over the weekend will go directly to The Lisa May Foundation.
Please send an email to events@bagshotvillage.com for more details.

Quiz Evening at The Cedar Tree -date change

keep calm it's quiz
The last month has gone very quickly and  we at Bagshot Events have been caught on the hop as far as our usual Quiz Night at the Cedar Tree. We normally aim for the second Tuesday of the month ….. but sadly this month a couple of things have happened, which means we are slightly wrong footed and short of time. The group we would have been raising funds for was actually ourselves, (to pay for the Christmas Wishes around the village tree), so we are not letting anyone else down. Apologies to all our regular participants, but please note the date for the next one and make notes during the Olympic Games as questions are bound to come up!!
The next quiz will therefore be on Tuesday 13th September, when we will be raising funds for Sebastian Action Trust, which is based in Bagshot. More details to follow.

Bagshot Together – Service for Peace Sunday 11th September 6pm

peace1

Many of us are wondering why such awful things are happening in our world today and why some people are so full of hate for their fellow human beings.

There seem to be no answers, and many of us are frustrated that we cannot do more to make our world a less violent and more tolerant place to live.

On Sunday 11th September (the 15th anniversary of 9/11)  you are welcome to attend a ‘Service for Peace’, which is being organised by members of the Bagshot Christian community, but open to everyone. There will be prayers, readings and hymns all promoting peace, when many gather, the power of prayer is stronger. There will also be the lighting of candles to send light and love to all the communities around the world, who are currently living in fear.

The venue is St. Anne’s Church on Church Road and will begin at 6pmpm. There will be refreshments after the service in the Parish Centre.

More details to follow.

Raise money for Bagshot Based Lisa May Foundation by buying a Chainsaw Carving!!

At Bagshot Village dot Com, we don’t usually do this ….. but since these carvings are just so fantastic and The Lisa May Foundation is such an worthwhile cause – and it is based in Bagshot – Tina thought it would be great, if as many people in the village saw them and maybe put a bid on them!  There are two owls, a bear, hare, axe in a block, eagle and a squirrel. Note they are on ebay – and you have to collect them from Bagshot!

Here is the message from Cheryl

The fabulous STIHL GB team have been busy once again finding new ways to raise funds for the Lisa May Foundation. At the Arb Show last weekend the talented STIHL team carved some very cool wooden animals from a single piece of wood using just a chainsaw!
They kindly donated them to us to auction. Check out these super little fellas now.

There are 7 carvings up for grabs, but they must be collected as they are a bit too heavy to post.
The auction closes on Sunday night so place your bid now.
If you know someone who might like one do share this post with them.
Thank you.

feeling hopeful.
