Bagshot Easter Egg Hunt – The Results

Many thanks to everyone who took part in the Bagshot Easter Egg Hunt 2015!
We raised a total of £40 in the jar for Harper Asprey Wildlife Rescue and some donations were also made on line directly to the charity.
We had lots of fully completed entry forms, so we put them all together and pulled one out of the hat.
The winner was Alfie Incher and your prize is waiting for you in ALBOE!

Woking and Sam Beare Hospices

logo-wsbhospicesWe have all seen their shop in the village – but do you know what they do with the money their raise from your donations and your purchases?

Woking & Sam Beare Hospices are independent charities dedicated to providing specialised end of life care and support to local people in Surrey Heath, their families, friends and carers with joint running costs of £8 million per year.

We are able to provide our services free of charge due to local individuals, groups and companies, who kindly raise funds for us throughout the year. There are many things you can do, large or small to make a difference and we can provide support and advice to make it as simple as possible. If you would like to fundraise for your local hospice, our Community Fundraiser Chiara Cadei would love to hear from you. Whether it’s a sponsored walk, cake sale, raffle, bucket collection or charity sports match, Chiara is here to support you all the way.

Bagshot Village Day Sunday 21st June 2015

The Bagshot Summer Village Day alternates between the High Street and other locations in the village – this year we have been invited to arrange the day at the Bagshot Playing Fields Association on College Ride. Those with long memories will remember we held the Millennium Fayre there in 2000, so we are due a return visit!

As you can see the date is Sunday 21st June – the longest day, so we are hoping for lots of sunshine to help the day go well. It will run from 1pm to  5pm, which allows time for families to get chores completed in the morning. As we also have several Church groups hoping to attend, this allows for Sunday Services to be completed and time for volunteers to set up the stalls.

As it is on a Sunday, we are hoping that many of the businesses from the village, can transfer their wares up to the pavilion and have a ‘pitch’. We are also asking for other interested groups around the village to run a stall or organise an activity – once you have paid for your pitch, all taking are yours to keep or pass on to your charity. We have some stalls you can hire – £40 for the day, or for £20 a pitch, you can bring your own tables and gazebo. Bagshot Events still need to raise money to cover costs and this is where we raise our funds.  There is plenty of space to spread out on the field, although there is limited room in the pavilion itself, so we are looking for outdoor stalls and activities only. The pavilion itself will be used as a First Aid post, lost children, mission control ……. with kettle boiling facilities!

So, put the date in your diaries, and contact me if you wish to run a stall or organise an activity. Please send an email to events@bagshotvillage.com and I will send an application form and more details. If you wish to help on the day with setting up and/or tidying up afterwards, general marshaling, you would also be very welcome. Please send me an email with your name and contact number.

If you know any group, charity or business in Bagshot or the surrounding area, who would be interested, make sure you send them this message.

Thank you

Horses in Field at Grove End Bagshot

I have had a couple of messages now and conversations regarding the eight horses in a field on Grove End opposite Windlesham Golf Course entrance. Does anyone know who the field belongs to and who is caring for the horses? The concern seems to be the lack of grazing especially at this time of year and that no one appears to take extra foods or visit them. There is running water at the bottom of field, so that is not a worry. Can anyone shed any light on the situation? Please email me on events@bagshotvillage.com. Many thanks Tina Carneyhorse

Christmas at Bagshot Village Community Library

There is now a Christmas Tree in Bagshot Library which needs a little bit of TLC!

Children, can you please come and fill in a small card and /or decorate a small bauble and hang them on the tree?!! Fairy Nuff would be absolutely delighted if you could as it is looking a little bit bare at the moment!

Can you donated a gift for a less fortunate child in the area?

Fairy Nuff would be even more delighted if you could put a new present in the 96.4 Eagle Radio Appeal Box. They are collecting for children and teenagers in less fortunate circumstances than most of us. Let’s get the box full of wonderful gifts all donated from us lovely folk  in Bagshot. The gifts should be unwrapped so they can be allocated appropriately when taken back to Eagle House in Guildfordsanta. Many many thanks in anticipation!
