Quiz Evening 14th June – update

Just a reminder that there is a charity quiz evening next Tuesday 14th June to raise funds for local lad, Charlie Grainger. 7.30pm at The Cedar Tree. £10 a head, which includes supper from the superb menu below. (If you prefer not to eat, the cost is £3 a head). We have quite a few teams booked in, but there is space for another couple. It is a light-hearted, fun evening and there are prizes!  We prefer teams of 4, but if you have more than 4 members, we add points to those teams with 4  or less, so it makes it fairer overall.

We also appreciate it, if you bring along a raffle prize, as that is where we raise the most money.  Laura, Charlie’s mum, also raises money by collecting the plastic milk carton caps (red, green and blue) so if you have any lying around, please bring them along too.

Just to note …….Philip Jones, is the new chef who has taken over the restaurant and it is now called The Dining Room @ The Cedar Tree. Valerie and I sampled some of the menu yesterday (just to make sure!) and we were blown away by the dishes we had. Philip has kindly put together this special menu for our quiz.

Bagshot’s Battle of the Bulls

We will be saying ‘goodbye’ to the Harvester at The Windlebrook and saying hello to ‘Miller and Carter Steakhouse’ in August.

The Beefeater at The Cricketers have the ‘lovely’ highly elevated bull signs to advertise themselves, but Miller and Carter are planning to have a bull statue stood outside. You may need to copy and paste this link to see what has been submitted to planning.

Fly-tipping at BPFA College Ride

Fly tipping at entrance to BPFA
Once again some low life has dumped rubbish at the entrance of the BPFA and blocking the gateway to the public footpath. I have published the photos so they can be shared far and wide to Surrey Berkshire and Hampshire, in the hope someone will recognise the rubbish. It includes a very mangled concrete mixer as well as bricks and garden waste, Someone may have paid good money for this rubbish to be removed, only for it to be fly tipped sometime between Friday night and Saturday morning. There is also an invoice from a store in Yateley, which will of course be passed to the local authorities asap as this maybe a clue.
If you recognise anything, please send a private message to this page / send an email to events@bagshotvillage.com or contact the police on 101 with details. All information will be in strictest confidence. Thank you for sharing Tina Carney
